Coding Unplugged in Year 3

Image
The students in Mrs Coote's and Mrs Cooke's class explored developing codes using commands for the BeeBot robots. With the aim of helping BeeBot to learn how to write numbers (0-9) the correct way (top to bottom) the students learned the distances and angles that correspond to the commands for the BeeBot. In pairs, they then created codes for selected number cards such as 1, 7 and 0 using command cards. They then documented their 'unplugged' codes in Book Creator and some students were able to test their codes with a BeeBot robot.

Developing Data Skills in Year 2

A 2D Scatter Plot Graph Representation of Data The students in Mrs Aylett's class learned to collect, represent and analyse data using the Numbers app on the iPads. The students explored different representations of their data, collected on a basic spreadsheet in the app such as 2D Bar Graphs and 2D Scatter Plot Graphs. They also learned to be able to label the X and Y axis on their graphs and include relevant data on it to make it easier to analyse. They were then able to make statements about the eating habits of the class!
